From A Jack To A King
‘Thought I’d kick-off this blog with my late mother’s favourite tune. It’s called ‘From a Jack to a King’ by Ned Miller. It was released in 1957 in the US, sadly without chart success.
But 5 years later in 1962 it was re-released internationally and peaked at number 6 in the US Billboard charts. It also reached No.2 in the UK charts.
However it’s biggest success was in Ireland where it topped the music charts. It was long before my time, but a nice tune nonetheless that will always remind me of my Mam.
